New Lumikko BTMS – a modular liquid cooler for electric work machines

Lumikko has developed a modular battery thermal management system tailored to customer needs, ensuring optimal battery temperature through both cooling and heating. The solution is designed especially for electric work machines, where space constraints and operating conditions vary.

“Each work machine has its own duty cycle and operating conditions. Lumikko BTMS is a thermal management system with a wide power range that adapts to diverse needs without oversizing. Its compact and distributed design allows for optimal placement within the machine,” says Mika Sorri, Head of Electrification.

The new product is the latest proof of Lumikko’s expertise in thermal management for demanding conditions – launched as the company celebrates its 55th anniversary.

• A CO₂-free refrigerant makes the solution environmentally friendly
• Free-flow cooling optimizes energy consumption, especially in cold conditions.
• Durability is ensured by addressing vibration, water, corrosion, and temperature fluctuations already at the design stage.
• Cabin air conditioning can also be integrated into the system.
